Is this image compressor free?
Yes — completely free, no sign-up, no watermark and no file-size limits beyond what your browser can handle.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API — your images never leave your device or touch a server.
Which formats are supported?
You can compress JPG, PNG and WebP, and convert between them. WebP usually gives the smallest files at the same quality, so it's great for the web.
Why doesn't the quality slider change PNG size much?
PNG is a lossless format, so the quality slider mainly affects JPG and WebP. To shrink a PNG a lot, convert it to WebP or JPG, or reduce its dimensions.
Will compressing reduce the image quality?
Lowering quality trades some detail for a smaller file. Start around 70–80% — for most photos the difference is invisible while the file gets dramatically smaller. Compare the preview before you download.
